The Scientific-Professional Society for Disaster Risk Management, based in Belgrade, founded the International Institute for Disaster Research in 2020 (https://idr.edu.rs/). The Institute is dedicated to advancing scientific research in the field of disaster studies, with its headquarters located at the address mentioned on the website.
Our primary focus lies in conducting basic, applied, and developmental scientific research within the discipline of disaster risk management. The Institute is organized into six specialized departments:
- Department for Research on Phenomenology, Endangerment, and Resistance to Disasters
- Department for Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation Research
- Department for Disaster Protection and Rescue Research
- Disaster Recovery Research Department
- Disaster Risk Management Department
- Department for Research on International Cooperation and the Legal Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction

Opportunities for Researchers
While initial participation will involve volunteer work to gain scientific research experience, funding opportunities depend on project activities. Once funding is secured, researchers will:

Upon receiving your application, a Commission comprising three faculty members from various universities (part of the Board of Directors of the Scientific-Professional Society for Disaster Risk Management) will review the submissions.
